Restorative Dentistry

What is restorative dentistry?

Divine DentalCare provides comprehensive restorative dentistry for patients who suffer from common oral health problems that require necessary care. These techniques can overlap with cosmetic dentistry procedures as modern restorations are designed to look and feel natural or improve one's existing appearance. Restorative dentistry procedures are common to general or family dentists and involve the diagnosis and treatment of conditions effecting the teeth, gums and maxillofacial (jaw and face) portions of the body.

If restorative treatments are necessary, you can expect that Dr. V will provide common procedures as dental fillings, bonding, root canals, dental crowns, oral cancer screenings, and gum disease treatment.

The following is a list of common general restorative procedures.

Dental Crowns

Crowns are used to cover damaged, cracked, chipped teeth, or to generally restore teeth. When cemented into place, they fully cup over the portion of a tooth which lies at and above the gum line. Dr. V will match the color of your teeth to give you a natural look and feel.

Crown & Bridgework

A dental bridge is a custom device anchored to neighboring teeth that replaces one or more missing teeth. A tooth or teeth replaced with bridgework are replaced by a natural-looking prosthetic (replacement) that is held together by the teeth on either side of the missing one(s). Crowns and bridges are most commonly prepared from high quality materials such as semiprecious or precious metals, porcelain, or a fused combination of the two. Dr. V will take into account esthetics, function and tissue compatibility when selecting the material most suitable for your teeth.

Esthetic Fillings

Here at Divine DentalCare teeth fillings are utilized using the most modern advancements in dentistry. The exact placing of modern composites allows the tooth to be as close as possible to its original strength in the most conservative fashion. Modern dental technologies use composites of a very hard "plastic" that bonds (micromechanically fuses) to the tooth to hold the tooth together. The use of amalgam fillings has been replaced with these plastics as some dentists believe that amalgam fillings expand and contract with hot, cold and biting. Some believe amalgam technology can lead to teeth that are weakened with every meal and that are susceptible to fracturing. Amalgam also contains mercury, a toxic element that is released from the fillings that has uncertain effects on the entire body.

Covid-19 Safety Protocol

The health and safety of our guests and team members has always been our top priority. We have enhanced our systems to continue to provide a safe environment for all. Below are some of the safety measures implemented at Divine DentalCare:

  • Sterilization of all instruments and disinfecting of all surfaces complying with OSHA & CDC guidelines has always been common practice. There will be more frequent disinfection of counters, handles, pens, and all surfaces after each guest use throughout the day.
  • UV air purifiers are placed throughout the entire office to help eliminate airborne viruses, microbes, and allergens.
  • Readily available hand sanitizer and hand washing stations throughout the office for increased hand hygiene for team and guest use before and after visits.
  • New protective equipment such as face shields, high level mask protection, lab coats (changes between every patient), non latex gloves, hair caps, and eye protective wear
  • Removal of amenities (spa, pillows, headsets, towels, etc)—please bring your own for your dental comfort needs at this time.
  • Limited number of guests in the office at one time—only patients with an appointment are to present to the office with the exception of one parent/guardian to accompany a child/special needs adult.
  • Social distancing measures will be used for treatment arrangement.
  • Less patients scheduled per day to allow for increased disinfecting times between guests.
  • Requests for all guests entering the office to wear face covering upon arrival and post procedure.
  • Placement of Plexiglas (clear barrier) at front desk check in and check out areas to reduce airborne transmissions.
  • Temperatures and screening will be required for EVERY patient and team member upon arrival.
  • Remote and advanced registration via online submission of guest forms including Covid-19 screening form.
